Fiona Moes Pel is a Canadian visual artist whose practice engages painting, drawing, collage, and sculpture, often selecting materials for their physical, social, and cultural resonances. She explores converging themes of the sacred and the mundane, the now and the not yet, and the ritual and the spontaneous. She is currently investigating ideas around early matrescence, the process of becoming a mother.
Fiona has a Master of Fine Arts (Emily Carr University), a Bachelor of Fine Arts (University of the Fraser Valley), and a Bachelor of Education (Simon Fraser University). She lives with her husband and two children in Vancouver, BC where she makes and teaches art.
